@pumpkinrat Not sure about settings in the standalone PCSX, but couldn't you change the output res of that pluggin to 1024x768 (seeing as you had it set to 1360x768 anyways) or a res that has something resembling a 4:3 ratio? I set most of my cores to run at 640x480, as that's technically higher than the original res in most cases anyways. Other benefit to the lower res means less stress on the pi, meaning potentially less input lag.

@megafacehead The dispmanx driver should not be something that makes a game from unplayable input lag to playable. It should make a playable game from good input lag to better. He probably altered the config or is using a 3rd party image.

well just tried it on a psp. It was way better there. it just small. I missed some jumps but I think cuz im very rusty maybe. Had to use 1.1 so it wouldn't tare.
That's based on the x9 emulator so im guessing my tv is so crappy.

Oh, I agree - I based it on what Brunnis himself was doing comparing the press vs LED tests: differences were minuscule. See it here: https://forums.libretro.com/t/an-input-lag-investigation/4407/524

But he did have a 240fps cam. I'm not sure if I can be bothered myself, it's just an idea. Overall it's all just out of curiosity and old benchmarking habits, which I have since the days of 3dfx cards :P I don't need this to prove anything to myself or others, since I can live with this lag as it is at the moment.

One test though I would definitely would like to conduct is to take some people who claim that are "sensitive" to lag and do some blind trials on multiple setups with various slight differences. I think the results could surprise a few, especially those who swear that 1 -2 frames of lag makes games unplayable for them :)

I had all sorts of issues with the ds4 using ds4drv, it caused the pi to overheat, but I didnt have any lag,
either way, I purchased the usb dongle for the ds4 and the problem was instantly gone.
for 20USD i would reccomend you dont waste your time, and just buy the dongle.

Sorry I wasn't very clear, I have framebuffer off currently. I turned it on, and then I turned it off. There's a noticeable graphical difference, so I know it's definitely off, but somehow the pause delay is still gone. Framebuffer On does increase the lag even worse though.

But even before I messed with the framebuffer, there was input lag is what I was trying to say.

I don't think there's a fix though, it's just how it's currently coded it seems.

It could simply be a lag issue. I doubt that the Bluetooth receiver in the Pie3 is as robust as the PS4 one. For this reason I don't use more than 2 PS3 wireless controllers at a time.

The only related issue I could find is this one, but that's more about power draw from the controllers than Bluetooth lag:

@pattaboy Every emulator, if it's on Windows, Linux or Mac has some form of input lag.

Just read this thread and the one on Libretro to try different things that might help.

      Just to name a few

      Game Mode on you TV

      Runcommand set to Performance

      Render Resolution
